Hiroshima, Japan. October 8, 2025 - (JCN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda) has been conducting comprehensive tests to assess the business feasibility of its ‘Coating Corrosion Resistance Evaluation Service.’ Through the service, Mazda aims to contribute to address social issues by reducing environmental impact in paint technology and materials development, and also enabling the efficient maintenance and lifespan extension of social infrastructure. With an eye toward expanding the service to industries beyond automotive, Mazda is scheduled to exhibit at 8th Paint & Coating Expo -COATING JAPAN-to be held at Makuhari Messe from Wednesday, November 12 to Friday, November 14, 2025. Measuring Instrument(Size: 350×260×100mm) - Feature of Coating Corrosion Resistance Evaluation TechnologyConventionally, the corrosion resistance of painted components has been evaluated by generating rust over several months using specialized testing equipment, followed by visual inspection to assess deterioration. In 2017, Mazda became the first company in the industry to put into practical use an evaluation technology that enables the rapid, on-site evaluation of corrosion resistance of painted components. This method led to the development of ‘a portable measuring instrument’ capable of providing ‘quantitative’ assessments of paint film corrosion resistance in just ‘a few minutes to several tens of minutes.’ The new method addresses key challenges of conventional evaluation methods, including lengthy evaluation periods, variability in visual standards, and the difficulty of conducting measurements under real-world conditions.- Contribution to Tackle Social ChallengesBy providing the service across different industries, Mazda will be able to contribute to reducing the environmental impact of coating technology and material development, as well as efficient maintenance and extending lifespan of social infrastructure. For example, in the development of paints and coated components, it has been confirmed that reducing the number of prototype and retest cycles leads to lower raw material and energy consumption. Additionally, in the social infrastructure sector—such as bridges and transmission towers—maintenance is often conducted at fixed intervals, regardless of the actual condition or degradation of the coating. This technology is expected to enable condition-based maintenance by allowing the coating’s status to be assessed and preservation activities to be conducted at the appropriate timing.- Plan Toward CommercializationMazda is currently evaluating the commercial feasibility of a commissioned service model, in which samples provided by partner companies are analyzed using Mazda’s proprietary diagnostic technology, and the results are delivered as formal reports. Looking ahead, the Company aims to commercialize this commissioned evaluation service in 2026, and transition to a cloud-based SaaS* model in the future.Mazda will leverage the proprietary technologies it has cultivated through automotive development and manufacturing, and apply them beyond the automotive industry to help businesses and local governments overcome social challenges.Related Information- Contact for inquiries regarding this business feasibility studycoating_contact@mazda.co.jp* A service that automatically transfers data measured by instruments to the cloud, analyzes it using cloud-based software, and delivers the results to devices such as PCs.  Copyright 2025 JCN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com. TOKYO and CAMBRIDGE, Mass., October 8, 2025 - (JCN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - Eisai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, CEO: Haruo Naito, “Eisai”)  and Biogen Inc. (Nasdaq: BIIB, Headquarters: Cambridge, Massachusetts, CEO: Christopher A. Viehbacher, “Biogen”) announced today that lecanemab-irmb subcutaneous injection (U.S. brand name: LEQEMBI® IQLIKTM) is now available in the U.S. as a maintenance dosing regimen for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or mild dementia stage of disease (collectively referred to as early AD). After 18 months of LEQEMBI (lecanemab-irmb) intravenous (IV) treatment at 10 mg/kg every two weeks, patients may either continue IV infusions at 10 mg/kg once every four weeks or start the new weekly 360 mg subcutaneous injection using the LEQEMBI IQLIK autoinjector.Eisai and Biogen have also launched the LEQEMBI CompanionTM program, an initiative rooted in both companies’ commitment to providing access to LEQEMBI and resources for people living with early Alzheimer’s disease. The program aims to provide expanded resources that support patients throughout their LEQEMBI treatment journey, from initiation through maintenance therapy. In addition to the current resources already provided (e.g., help with understanding insurance coverage and potential out-of-pocket costs and identifying financial support programs), the new LEQEMBI Companion program will now offer patients:- Injection education through Nurse Educators either in-person or virtually to provide patients with training on injecting their maintenance dose using the LEQEMBI IQLIK (nurse educators train on the device only; patients should discuss any treatment-related questions with their doctor).- A welcome kit that includes educational resources to help patients and care partners know what to expect, prepare for at-home injections, and more.Designed to serve as a digital solution to help support patients and care partners along their treatment journey, the LEQEMBI Companion app was developed with Medisafe, a digital patient engagement and medication management platform. From educational information about the injection process to a tool for tracking where and when injections occur, the LEQEMBI Companion app offers resources and more all in one place. Patients can visit LEQEMBI.com/CompanionAppSignUp to get started. To further support access to LEQEMBI for certain patients who need help paying for their medicines, Eisai’s Patient Assistance Program (PAP) will provide LEQEMBI and LEQEMBI IQLIK at no cost, for eligible uninsured and underinsured patients, who meet financial need and other program criteria. To learn more, or if you are already enrolled and have questions, visit LEQEMBI.com/PatientSupport or call 1-833-4-LEQEMBI (1-833-453-7362), Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time.AD is a progressive, relentless disease characterized by formation of protein deposits known as plaques made of amyloid-beta aggregates and neurofibrillary tangles made of tau protein in the brains of people living with AD.  It is caused by a continuous underlying neurotoxic process that begins before amyloid plaque accumulation and continues after plaque removal.1-3  The data show that amyloid-beta protofibrils and tau tangles play roles in the neurodegeneration process,3,4 and only LEQEMBI fights AD in two ways – targeting both amyloid plaque and protofibrils*, which can impact tau downstream.Due to the reaccumulation of AD biomarkers and return to placebo rate of decline after therapy is stopped,4,5 continuing maintenance treatment after the initial 18-month therapy is essential to slow the progression of AD and extend the therapeutic benefits, helping patients maintain who they are for longer. The availability of LEQEMBI IQLIK in the U.S. offers patients and care partners the ability to use the device at home, shortening treatment time, and providing an option to continue treatment without having to worry about visiting an infusion center. The LEQEMBI IQLIK also has the potential to reduce healthcare resources associated with IV maintenance dosing, such as preparation for infusion and nurse monitoring, while increasing infusion capacity for new eligible patients to begin initiation treatment and streamlining the overall AD treatment pathway.Eisai serves as the lead for lecanemab’s development and regulatory submissions globally with Eisai and Biogen co-commercializing and co-promoting the product and Eisai having final decision-making authority.* Protofibrils are thought to be the most toxic Aβ species that contribute to brain damage in AD and play a major role in the cognitive decline of this progressive and devastating disease. Protofibrils can cause neuronal and synaptic damage in the brain, which can subsequently adversely affect cognitive function through multiple mechanisms.4 The mechanism by which this occurs has been reported not only by increasing the formation of insoluble Aβ plaques, but also by directly damaging signaling between neurons and other cells. It is believed that reducing protofibrils may reduce neuronal damage and cognitive impairment, potentially preventing the progression of AD.5For more details, please visit: https://www.eisai.com/news/2025/pdf/enews202571pdf.pdf  Copyright 2025 JCN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com. TOKYO & HAMBURG, Oct 6, 2025 - (JCN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - Olympus Corporation (Olympus), a global MedTech company committed to making people’s lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling, today announced the launch of SecureFlex, a single-use fine needle biopsy device. SecureFlex will be commercially available in Europe and Japan in Autumn 2025, with a subsequent global rollout subject to regulatory requirements such as product registration and market clearance.Designed for use with an ultrasound endoscope, SecureFlex supports endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) of submucosal and extramural lesions within the gastrointestinal tract. Its primary clinical application is in the diagnosis of diseases such as pancreatic cancer.EUS-FNB: Endoscopic Ultrasound-guided Fine Needle BiopsyEUS-FNB is an examination technique that combines ultrasound and endoscopy technologies, enabling physicians to obtain tissue or cell biopsies of lesions from areas such as the pancreas that cannot be accessed directly by the endoscope. For example, a needle biopsy may be performed through the wall of the gastrointestinal tract with the ultrasound scope being inserted orally and ultrasound imaging used for sub-mucosal visualization. Collected tissue samples are then sent for pathological evaluation to determine whether the lesion is benign or malignant.NA-U210HIn recent years, advances in the treatment of pancreatic cancer—including molecularly targeted therapies and immunotherapies—have increased the need for high-quality tissue sampling. For these therapies, it is often critical to obtain larger and higher-quality samples to ensure accurate treatment decisions. The newly launched SecureFlex has been developed to address these needs, incorporating feedback from physicians. SecureFlex contributes to more precise treatment planning for pancreatic cancer and other gastrointestinal diseases.Dual-Beveled Raptor Tip Supports the Collection of Larger Specimens1Dual-Beveled Raptor Tip, with its multi-dimensional cutting surfaces, enables the collection of larger, intact tissue samples while preserving cellular architecture through precise tissue execution1 for procedural efficiency. The outer distal cutting surface forms fine edge to support smooth tissue puncture and the inner proximal cutting surface minimizes tissue escape1.Dual-Beveled Raptor TipConsistent Access to Complex Anatomical StructuresEUS-FNB procedures often require the needle to be inserted into difficult-to-access locations, such as pancreatic head and uncinate process.
